Senior Site Reliability Engineer (NRDB) - Open to remote

  • 07/29/2021 6:38 PM
    Message # 10783020

    Your Opportunity

As the group responsible for telemetry data ingest, storage, and query functionality, the Data Platform group at New Relic is the foundation of all of the company's products. Engineers working on the New Relic Database (NRDB) contribute directly to the proprietary database technology at the heart of it all.

The team exists to drive the improvement of the operational practices and architecture of NRDB. As a member of the team, you will work alongside some of our most knowledgeable and collaborative engineers to ensure the resiliency and availability of this rapidly scaling, distributed system.

If the idea of working on a system that ingests billions of data points per minute, serves billions of web requests per day, and processes millions of messages per second at petabyte scale sounds appealing, please be in touch.

    Your Qualifications

    • 2+ years of professional experience in distributed SaaS software development.
    • Desire to learn and stay updated on SRE, DevOps, and software development best practices.
    • Our system is primarily written in Java. If you don’t know Java, that’s not a deal-breaker, but you should have experience with other backend statically typed programming languages (C++, C#, Golang).
    • Experience using the command line to manage, investigate, and fix things when they’re broken.

    • Experience in high-throughput software development.
    • Familiarity with the public cloud.
    • Experience with Kubernetes.
    • Experience or interest in database implementation.
    • Ability to work well asynchronously and effectively communicate your thoughts in writing.

Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
