Atlanta, May 9, 2014 — The Metro Atlanta Association of Professionals announced today its new partner, insurance giant New York Life. The largest mutual life insurance company in the United States (within its industry, as reported by Fortune magazine) began its first marketing campaign aimed at the LGBT community in 2010. Three years ago, New York Life launched its first LGBT website: http://www.newyorklife.com/lgbt. It is also a member of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
“I couldn’t be more excited to have New York Life partner with MAAP,” group president Joshua D. Lorenz said. “They have a strong commitment to growing in the LGBT community and become a valuable resource. We know they have a lot to offer and are excited to help them share their vision through our events.”
MAAP Partnership Director Peter Engelmaier agreed: “I am extremely proud that one of the country’s leading financial services and insurance firms is partnering with us to enrich the meetings our members attend. The level of support and commitment NYL is providing to us speaks volumes about their commitment to the LGBTA community and the value they see MAAP adding in Atlanta.”
MAAP’s mission is to create an inclusive environment for the Metro Atlanta LGBTA+ community that allows for professional development through networking, high-quality events, training, mentoring and education.
